Ktv Session
Finally went for Ktv today after EONS of not going. Guowei was as usual very good, turns out guizhong is not bad too. Kase has an unbelievably cute voice. I need to brush up on my canto. Started at around 2 plus and i left earlier at around 6 to head home for dinner. Mommy cooked her yakiniku beef again. Since it's Ben's fav, i asked him to come over to dinner (shun bian pick me up on the way there). We just hung out at home, he used the comp, i read my book. Good day.

Queasy Tummy
I spent the best part of yest and today with my mum and family. All the girls went for facial yest and after that went for dinner at this teochew restaurant. When i reached home, i started getting this headache, and my whole body felt so hot. It wasn't that kind of hot where you sweat. It was internally hot, yet with all the heat within my body, chills were running all over my skin. No....didnt feel well at all.
When i woke the next morning, the good thing was the headache and heat were gone. The BAD thing was i THOUGHT i felt hungry. Okay well, got my bum to the kitchen to find food, ate a piece of bread, still hungry, so i slept a while. Mum and dad brought food home, so i ate the Min Chiang Kueh. But i was still 'HUNGRY'. By then i realised that it wasnt hunger, rather a bad tummy. The feeling wasnt pain, well maybe discomfort. It is hard to explain. More like discomfort till you dont feel like doing anything. Like cramps, but higher up. Well, went for lunch with family, didnt really feel like anything. I couldnt even finish a bowl of MEASLY tempura Udon. I mean the portion was really tiny for me, but i still couldnt finish it. Mum told me it was probably gastric so she went to get meds for me. It was this milky yucky thing. Looked like *AHEM*-Barley. Came home and slept. That was about 245pm , baby called me at around 3pm but at that time i didnt know he was already downstairs (sorry honey). Slept somemore till about 5/6(i dont know actually). By then it was almost dinner, so i called baby to see if he was still coming down for dinner. Mom cooked my special request 'Mei Cai Kou Rou-Hakka Kong Ba Dish', but i couldnt enjoy it. Sigh what a pity. After dinner ben and me slacked around till about 830 then we went out. Now i'm back here, and very hungry. I wonder how much i weigh now. (Yes, guys you must be rolling your eyes about women and their eternal obsession with their weight).

Coffee & KungFu
Its a wednesday nite/ thursday morn, whichever you prefer. I came back from watching a movie="umizaru" about japanese search and rescue diver trainees. A typical feel good touching jap drama. They're really good at these. Wasnt what i expected. Sometimes movies are very surreal but somehow they make you believe that these events do actually happen in real life and may even in fact happen to you.
Finished up my "Coffee & KungFu" by Karen Brichoux borrowed from NLB. Its a really good book, about a girl who loves jackie chan kungfu movies and hates her work. Who manages to find a great guy in a coffee house and uses insights from kungfu movies and her observations to make decisions& find love.
Sometimes i wonder if everyone is like that. They draw from somewhere that helps them get make decisions, what they want. The get that *snap* - this is where i am going in life. i was never really able to do that. Up till now, i believe i am still really just drifting along.

Chinois Noir
We went to black last night with some of my friends. Thought the atmosphere was pretty good. Lots of people. There were these 2 lesbians dancing near us who were almost eating each other right there. I mean ...they were so HOT! BUT their dancing was a tad bit outrageous. They went so low, they almost touched the floor and when they were so low, they were so near each other...how do they do these things?? (Hmm...ponders....debbby will never be able to dance like that).
I drank a little, danced a little. Was a little bit dissappointed that baby didnt dance with me, i really wanted to, but i guess he just needs time. But the next time i go again will be eons later.
Today was a lazy day, went to his place, watched tv, i slept while he washed his car, went out for dinner with his buds, went back to watch 13 going on 30 afterwards. Funny how doing the most mundane of things can be so enjoyable. Just appreciating each other being there. There's no need to dress to kill go to town all the time. Sometimes we just need time to ourselves.

Ang Mohs Insulted
Most recently, i read an article in a forum about an 'ang moh' who was insulted when the term was used on him. (For the occasional passerby who is not familiar with this term, it is a localised term for caucasians)
For most of us, this may feel quite absurd as we dont usually attach a malicious meaning to the word. Rather, the general population here use it almost as a substitute for the word 'caucasian'. Another reader suggested that most of the population here are aunties and uncles who might not have a very high standard of english and thus the word 'ang moh' is easier to use. Another reader however, disagreed. He felt that if we asians object to the terms 'chink' and etc then we should stop using the word 'ang moh'. I disagree.
The work chink, is a relatively new word as we asians are only just starting to infiltrate the western world whereas the caucasians have been in asia for some time. The word chink is largely used by youngsters and is usually meant as a form of insult when used. However, the terms 'ang moh' in singapore and 'guai lo' in hong kong were most probably formed when our fore-fathers encountered westeners for the first time. (Hence the reference to devils and ghosts). They, who have never ever seen the likes of red, blond hair, blue eyes and being high superstitious would have associated the westeners with devils and ghosts. As said, the term is used very loosely, almost as replacement for the word caucasian
There are many expatriates in Singapore, particularly caucasians, who are able to use the term 'ang moh' jokingly in reference to themselves. One example is my french lecturer(and you know how stickly the french are). Another is the 'ang moh' reader who wrote in.
PS. Would gladly appreciate comments from any 'ang mohs' who happen to pass by.

War of the GERMS
I'm at the office now. There isnt much to do here, except look after the reception. My baby is sick. Its so hard going out with him, look at him like that. He's there but he's not there. I wanted to see him, but i also wanted him to stay home to rest. What a dilemma! What's worse? There is some cross country run they have to go to today. In the afternoon! Under that sun, hot! Just today, he cannot find his oakleys(quite ex mind you)..My poor baby.
