Sunday nights

Every Sunday I succumb to the one thing I seldom do. Take afternoon naps, while yes it feels good, it also takes away the time that I could have done something else with.

So when the night rolls around (usually after dinner), I find myself staying up late trying to hold on to the last few hours of the weekend, cos I know when I wake up it'll be bloody monday and its back to work.

And I just realised that I missed the deadline on my citi cc bill. Fuck. 1st time.

Halloween Night

Went down to Clarke Quay on Halloween weekend to meet some friends for a party and have some fun.

It was another great night, I felt such joy dancing with babes. <3

Best Costume we saw all night! Too many ppl with fake blood and black eyes/Kiss/Joker.

It was such a fun night! Can't wait till next year! Am already thinking of what I can dress up as. =)

BB has new clothes!

Mr K is the best ever! He got my BB a new cover! As an anniversary present!!

I kept eyeing it on the website pondering if I should get it...

Anyway, I fell asleep early last night while K was still doing stuff and when I woke up at around 5am to go pee I saw my bb with new clothes! Happies!!

The Pantry

I finally realized why my colleagues like to pack back to the pantry to have lunch. The pantry is actually a rather nice place to eat during lunch...there are many tables around, a lot empty, the tv is switched on albeit abit blurred but still watch-able. Quite enjoyable.. :) I even saw a lady knitting there!

K & D @ Capella Singapore

We went to Capella Singapore for the wedding of Karl's cousin. It was a gorgeous place and at 2k per table it better be!

For me it was a magical night with lots of jokes and laughter with K and esp when we had a dance. I absolutely loved it, dressing up with K so handsome :)

MC day

Today I took MC cos I was going to be late and we can't be late 2 days in a row. Went to K's house... Slept till 12 woke up and went to check what time the doc opens then came back and slept till 2, went down to doc and got an MC then went home to surf net randomly. Ordered some stuff in prep for xmas then surf NLB website, then ran down to AMK library to get the books I want and now queueing for Koi bubble tea. Ahhh.. My precious borrowed time is nearly over!

Mr K and Miss P enjoying life @ Pacific Coffee Company Vivovity having a drink and resting after walking nearly 3 rounds of Vivo and a zara men belt and 3 body shop bath gels. We are facing RWS and expect fireworks @ around 9. Ahh..this is the life.

Connectivity in Tanjong Pagar

I slowly realize that here in Tanjong pagar, I am extremely connected to the places I love to go and my home.

For buses home, there are:
130 right outside my office, fastest way home, also goes to K's place but train is faster.
131/186 from International Plaza, 131 is just slightly longer than 130 but 186 is like taking the entire journey from terminal to terminal. However, it takes me straight to Hotel Miramar where my nail polish store is located, 4 stops from my office :)
145 which is also quite fast but have to walk a little to amara hotel

For shopping:
Orchard: 20 mins or less by bus
Vivo: 6 stops away
Nail shop: 4 stops away
City hall: short bus ride or 2 mrt stops away
Chinatown for facial/charms shopping: 145 straight to doorstep. Now I have no excuse to be lazy about making necklaces. (-_-)

Not sure whether to say this place is made for me or I am made for this place. I wonder if I will get complacent and stay here for a long time and get snails pace salary increment which is typical of jap banks.

I hope not.

Weekend / Suwan baby shower / Shopping day

Started friday by going out with babes to beer market to chill out abit, had a lot of fun! =) We played dice and I kept losing although I thought I was pretty good =( had an early night cos we had to attend daniel and emily's church wedding the next day.

 Sat night I had to go for William So's concert with mom to support support, this was my outfit, went backstage again to say hi to everyone, wish can go into Andy Hui's room man...but cannot.
















Started the day going for suwan's 1 mth baby shower, got her a photo album scrapbooking set for her baby photos 



Then went down to bukit panjang plaza which is nearby to go to Aries to get some hairclips cos the one @ Raffles Place closed. 10+ clips for 1.90, bought 2 packets! stupid Chameleon charges 0.30 a clip, bloody ripoff!



Bought some jap snacks there too! 22 bux damage. Can't resist them :)

After that headed to orchard for some shopping, bought 2 pairs of pj shorts from cotton on 2 for 20(earlier picture)

Went to kino to get my diary book for nxt year, got one for mom too! Cos little twin star is our fav! 19.25 + 15.4 = 34.65



Got a book too! The handmade marketplace. 28.84 bux dmg



And finally bought some fancl facial care stuff 88 bux



Total damage from my shopping? Nearly 200...! =( my bank account cries =...(

And on a side note, came home and saw this little bird struggling to get out. It kept banging itself against the window so hard its little chest was heaving with breaths but I was afraid of its claws. So I dug out my polyester  gloves and gave it a lift out of the window :)

Japanese stuff in my life

Going about ur daily life, you are aware that you use japanese products. Of course, I mean you chose to buy them. But working in a japanese bank, you are made acutely aware of it. Like I use Za foundation and majolica eyeshadows which are both owned by shiseido, and then I use shiseido eyeliner too, a shu uemura eyelash curler. My lip balm has some japanese words on it but is made by Mentholathum (ok i just found out its a japanese company too. I use hada labo skin care...and my baby wipes are pigeon brand.

and i also realized that i have tons of meiji biscuits in my office drawer, and i love to drink yakult.

Sometimes these things are so ingrained that u don't take notice

The excitement of F1

The F1 weekend is finally over, the roads have cleared and there are no more jams...
I remember just a year ago, I had started work @ BNP. It was barely into my 2nd month and an exciting time for me. The F1 weekend had started and the office was just next to the track. We went to the 21st flr @ 4pm during woek to see the F400s. I remember practically racing to one fullerton after work to stand next to the track just to listen to the sound of the cars and soak up the atmosphere! I even had a ticket to go to the Club21 hospitality suite on race day and got Khiels goodies :)
How time flies, its been a year since then and I'm at another new job.

Friends or Colleagues

Starting at this new place, it really makes me miss my friends at the old place. The lines here in this bank are very clear cut, colleagues are purely just colleagues, maybe I am new perhaps. But then I notice that it is the same for everyone else. We go about our business, maybe talk a little bit here and there, go for lunch together. Could also be the age difference but then there are a few younger people around too.

Back in BNP, the lines of colleague and friend really blur and mesh together. Especially amongst the FGIPs who started mostly at the same time. Perhaps we stuck together because of the program or perhaps because we were the only age group in the bank. But there were other bunches who also formed their own clique and didnt hang out in the same circles.

Like I told Karl the other day, back in BNP when i lunch alone, most of the time its by choice because I need to run errands. But, if I am lunching alone nowadays, it is hardly due to choice.

I miss that feeling of camaraderie. =\

Credit card dilemma

Well...I've been working for a year plus and when I first started I applied for 2 S$500 credit cards from diff banks. Now that I finally meet the min income requirement, its time to decide if I should upgrade existing ones/ get a full card.

These are my points

1. 2 S$500 are really very manageable and help to keep my spending down. With int at 2% p.m. as long as I service my debt reasonably the interest will always be lower than the min payment. Well as a credit analyst and business student, one understands that a little bit of debt is not a bad thing... As long as its manageable. Optimal debt-to-equity ratio u know?

2. If I get a full cc, I will have much more spending power but that will req me to exercise superb self control cos I will have to pay whatever I swipe! That means no random packages from ASOS. :(

3. I can't go on with my 500 buck cards cos its not v fair to karl who has to always use his cards or to my friends who always have to pay with their cards too.

So that's my dilemma. Bankers help?

It's been a long time....

My first 'job' @ bnp is over seeing that its actually sort of an internship contract. I'm at a new bank now and I have a new desk! Life goes on ... :)

In between, I went to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam with Mr Marshmallow and also Desaru Malaysia. Had some fun times and now its back to work proper...time to save up for my goals for the next 2 years:

1. Go for Lasik Surgery
2. Finish my driving

Overloaded chairs

I'm generally not fond of the cold and thus have many jackets. I realized I have a habit of hanging jackets on my chairs. There are 3 jackets piled on my work chair. An assortment of 2 jackets and 1 blazer. Even my chair at home suffers the same fate. There are 5 shawls and 1 jacket hanging on it. (-_-)

A Random Saturday

Well since my sis is not around this weekend, we decided to stay over at my place then see what is our plan the nxt day. We woke up, walked via the park connector (back way) to whampoa for breakky (my fav chee cheong fun). Ever since our little stay at Hotel RE we seem to like taking walks out to explore here and there. Done with breakfast, we decided to take the main road route to go home. So on the way to the main road we passed by this coffee shop where some tv people were filming, we stopped for like 5 mins to watch the actors and there was this old uncle sitting on a basket nearby. Then someone shouted his name and he went like, i'm here!! Then i realised its one of those old famous uncles and karl said he's just sitting there like some kopitiam uncle and we didnt even realize its him. haha.

Anyway, we stayed at home karl was doing some work and I was doing some editing for my writeup and we decided to take a break and go out for some snack/tea time. Started getting ready and thinking of what to eat, then i thought of it! I recently found out karl loves egg tarts, so I decided to bring him to another famous egg tart shop!! This one is known as Liang Chen Mei Dian, a small little pastry shop selling hk pastries in chinatown. I got to the counter, which full of people and asked for 20 egg tarts, and then I saw a little sign in the corner which says all pastries @ 70c after 6pm. It was 6.30!! (egg tarts u.p. 90c) haha!

*PS: If anyone is interested, its at 18 Sago St, just dont go around now cos traffic is a nightmare what with cny around the corner.

So the cny bazaar thingy is on Sago St itself as well. I go my egg tarts and was gonna find karl who is waiting in the car, then I walked past the back of this stall with tons of big carton boxes with the words 太阳饼, man! I rushed to the front to check it out! One of my friends @ work, vanessa, gave me a few of that her mom bought for her, super yummy! 台湾土产!! It's like 老婆饼, just that the filling is not winter melon paste, its honey paste! Loves it. <3>

After which we headed to Tampines using the GPS to pick kei up at Temasek Polytechnic. Poor thing has a project due on Monday morning. So her weekend is pretty much burnt up with project discussions and stuff. Went to Bedok Interchange for the yummy curry chicken noodle then off home we go!

Anyway, the weekend is not over yet! Looking forward to more R&R before another hectic work week starts. =)

Salon

I realised that overtime u go to the salon, they will always say that ur hair is dry. Even if u feel that ur hair is Ok. Then they will ask you if you use any serum. Its not in their interest to tell you that your hair is in good condition yo. (-_-)

Today i had a dental appt which was at boon lay. On the way there and home i would pass by dover. My old stomping grounds. Makes my miss those poly days. So carefree but broke. I take comfort in the fact that i give up that i'm earning but who am i kidding. I'm still broke! Oh well.
